Road Cycling (bicycling) is a sport most commonly performed on a bicycle. Bicycles were introduced in the 19th century and now being the major form of transportation in some countries.
Bicycles is a clean form of transportation as well as a great sports for exercise, it run with renewable energy thus reduced air pollution and noise pollution as compare to other automotive vehicle. Bicycles is even more efficient and popular in area (city) with dense population. But there are also critics on bicycling for the unsafe of less protection to accident and not good at transporting passengers.

Although referred to as "gears" in the bike world, bicycle "gears" are technically sprockets since they drive or are driven by a chain, and are not driven by one another.
